WATCHFAIR 2015 CLASSIC WATCH PRIZE – VINGT-8 BGR

WATCHFAIR, First Prize of the Watch Industry in Luxembourg

The time has stopped on Watchfair this last Friday, May 8, 2015. For the first time in the Grand Duchy, Awards were given to international watchmakers, revealing 10 prizes awarded by a panel of nine experts.

Organized in the new Luxcongress venue in Luxembourg-Kirchberg, the Watchfair was inaugurated Friday, May 8, with a gala and an official awards ceremony, and ended with two days of exhibition on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 May. The Awards ceremony unveiled nine winners selected by a panel of experts, personalities of watchmaking and collectors. There Were gathered names such as Gregory Blumenfeld (the website Le Guide des Montres), Thierry Castagna (La Cote des Montres), Stephan Ciejka (La Revue des Montres), Thierry Gasquez (Passion Horlogère), Didier Guedj (Expert), Sacha Lakic (Designer), Romain Rea (Expert), Nicolas Salomon (regular journalist in many major magazines) and Gabriel Vachette (the website les Rhabilleurs).

The gala was attended by an audience of over 200 people, amateurs and collectors of watches. They also were able to discover in preview the exhibitors, open to the public from the following day. Luxembourg could discover for the first time on its territory brands as Hautlence, Utinam, Voutilainen, Ballouard, Vianney Halter … And atypical pieces of Vulcain, the Collection’Heure and introductory course in watchmaking provided by Objective Horlogerie.

This first edition of the Watchfair Awards has already registered a large participation of many great watch brands and independent watchmakers.

Watchfair is organized by Premium Magazine, bimonthly media in Luxembourg dedicated to extraordinary gentlemen.
